When buying a heat pump for your Orlando area home, it’s important to pay attention to the HSPF ratings, or heating seasonal performance factor. This rating determines the quality and effectiveness of the heat pump that you are buying with a ratio of BTU (or British thermal unit) heat output over a heating season to watt-hours of electricity used. In a nutshell, the higher the HSPF, the higher the unit’s energy efficiency.

Essentially you should look for products which are able to heat the home by transferring warm air from the warmer parts of the property. When it gets too hot, then you can use pumps to bring in cooler air. The HSPF ratings can tell you whether a product is going to transfer heat or generate it. The latter method is less cost effective. It has been estimated that an approved heat pump can turn energy into four times the original input. This means that you can reduce your energy bill by up to 40 percent.

For homes that have no ducts, there is a mini split version of this home accessory which is known as the reverse cycle chiller. It is able to create cold and hot water instead of operating with air alone. This means that it can be an effective radiant for floor systems. A geothermal network is established in order to ensure that the level of wastage is always kept to a minimum. The HSPF ratings will enable you to identify the models that work as opposed to those which are ineffective.

The popularity of heating and cooling systems in places such as Florida means that there are commercial interests that need to be vetted. With a rating system, you can identify the best product that will enable you to keep your home comfortable at a cost that is not going to strain your budget. That is why HSPF ratings are critical for any purchasing decisions.
